Develop the skills to care for those within the aged care sector through the Certificate III in Individual Support's specialised ageing stream.
This course remains FEE FREE in 2024! The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government for WA residents.

Training is focused on empowering and equipping students with the knowledge and competencies required of aged care workers to deliver individualised support to elderly people.
Students will be taught how to use discretion and judgement when providing this support and to take ownership of tasks and outcomes.
Your skills will be backed by factual, technical and procedural knowledge and theories. You will learn about the aged care industry, caring for the elderly, enabling independence, understanding and supporting people with dementia, safety procedures, ethical behaviour, infection control, working with cultural diversity, and workplace health and safety. You will put your skills into practice through mandatory work placement.
- Working effectively in the aged care industry
- Caring for the elderly and enabling them to maintain independence
- Learn how to implement effective communication strategies and work with a diverse range of groups of varying cultures and backgrounds
- Understanding and supporting people with dementia
- Providing personal hygiene for people in your care
- Managing manual handling tasks
- Safety procedures, infection control practices and ethical behaviour
- Workplace health and safety
- You are over 18 years old.
- You have the physical capability to undertake manual handling and to support clients.
